Deficiency of the ‘sunshine vitamin’ can increase ‘ Multiple Sclerosis’ risk

Low levels of vitamin D may increase the risk of developing MS in women!
MS(multiple sclerosis) disrupts the ability of parts of the nervous system to communicate ,resulting in a range of signs and symptoms including physical, mental and sometimes psychiatric problems.
Using a repository of blood samples, researchers identified women who could be diagnosed with MS.Of the women who developed MS, 58% had deficient vitamin D levels. They also found out that with each 50nmol/L increase in vitamin D levels, the risk of developing MS decreased by 39%.
Studies thus conclude that correcting vitamin D deficiency in young &middle age women may reduce their future risk of MS.
