Lose weight to lower your Blood pressure!
Hypertension has been implicated in a number of health conditions including heart and kidney diseases and stroke.A healthy life style can certainly reduce the risk of developing hypertension.But does one behaviour stand out from the rest?
The researchers examined the importance of five health behaviours on blood pressure levels: Maintaining a healthy body weight, never smoking, drinking fewer than seven alcoholic drinks weekly for women and 14 for men, getting 150 minutes or more moderate to vigorous exercise per week and eating a healthy diet.
Maintaining a healthy weight was the single most important behaviour to prevent hypertension. Increasing blood pressure at younger age is associated with earlier onset of heart disease and stroke. The data suggests that body weight is very important in terms of maintaining a normal blood pressure from early and into middle adulthood.
