People with diabetes, may not experience the acute symptoms associated with a heart attack ,which could turn out to be more deadly because they delay seeking medical attention
While most of the participants in the study reported feeling classic heart attack symptoms such as chest pain and discomfort they did not feel it was severe enough to be a heart attack .So,they delayed getting help which in turn contributed to higher risk of complications and disabilities.

Adults with diabetes are two to four times more likely to die from heart attack and six times more likely to suffer a heart attack than adults without diabetes.So, patients with Diabetes Mellitus should be made aware of their increased risk of cardiac events ,how they present and how they differ from medication side effects and’ hypos’.. Clinicians need to carefully explore the symptoms of patients with diabetes as well as their interpretation of their symptoms, to help these highly prone group.
