Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a condition characterised by a gradual loss of Kidney function over time.

There may be’ subtle or no symptoms’ till a patient has advanced kidney failure. So, regular check-up,especially in those with family history of kidney disease , is essential.

Who are at high risk?     Common signs and symptoms
  • Age above 50 years
  • swelling in feet and face
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Anemia
  • Hypertension

  • Family History
  • protein in urine
  • Smokers
  • Red blood cells in urine
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • Lethargy and weakness

PREVENT or DELAY development of CKD by monitoring and keeping:

  • HbA1 less than 7%
  • BP < 130/80
  • Monitor for Microalbumin every 3-4 months.
  • Use specific drugs for BP and Microalbumanaria
