Believe it- stress is said to be beneficial to a certain extent-helping us to take effective action when facing challenging conditions/situations.
This is ‘eustress’; But, beyond a certain threshold this becomes ‘distress’.Distress pathologically erodes and wears down cardiac, respiratory, immune, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal systems.
Stress becomes distress when stress response is provoked chronically. Biological stress turns psychological! Stress however is an integral part of our lives… learning to identify it and de-stressing becomes important. Essentially a life style change has to be made. Definitely a shift in emotional reaction to stress can be achieved though it cannot be prevented.
